Our client, a well-established and evolving manufacturing business, is currently seeking a Buyer to join their procurement team during an exciting phase of change. The Buyer will manage the day-to-day operational procurement of materials, components, and services, ensuring timely and cost-effective support to production operations.
Key Responsibilities:
- Review requests for quotation and source competitive pricing
- Process purchase requisitions and issue purchase orders
- Negotiate with suppliers to achieve best value on cost, on-time delivery, and quality
- Build and maintain strong supplier relationships, including performance monitoring and development
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date data within the ERP system
- Source and onboard new suppliers in line with company standards
- Expedite orders and resolve any delivery or supply issues
- Collaborate closely with internal stakeholders to communicate material availability or delays
Experience and Knowledge required:
- Previous experience in a Buyer or Purchasing role within a manufacturing environment
- Exposure to engineering manufacturing would be advantageous, but not essential
- Proficient in using ERP systems and working with multi-level BOMs
- Strong negotiation and supplier management skills
- Effective communicator with a collaborative working style
