Purpose of the role:
- Ensure successful delivery of high quality regular/ad hoc requests for information, including management of data to third parties, database entries and award submissions.
- Day-to-day line management including performance reviews, objective setting, development plans and performance/competence management.
- Development and implementation of clear processes and a supportive governance framework.
- Leverage data/technology/AI to ensure team are operating efficiently and maximising group outcomes.
- Ensure tasks/initiatives remain aligned to the objectives of the internal stakeholder teams.
- Take accountability for Proposal content control by ensuring responses are accurate, timely and relevant across all products and services.
- Contribute expertise to projects and committees as required, representing the Proposal team as the Subject Matter Expert.
- Actively support the Distribution strategy by shaping and evolving the team to meet changing priorities and demands.
- Work with senior managers and key stakeholders and agree how your team will deliver against strategic requirements associated with new distribution activity.
Outcomes for the role:
- As player manager, manage and actively contribute towards all aspects of Proposal team deliverables, ensuring timely and accurate delivery of output.
- Lead and coach a team of writers, ensuring you conduct regular 121s, set objectives, support development and manage performance.
- Manage workflow, ensuring appropriate distribution of tasks and activities within the team. Monitor progress in line with agreed deadlines.
- Create and maintain a robust and consistent control framework across data collation, data entry and data cleansing activities.
- Ensure you and your team project manage the successful delivery of strategically significant proposal responses, in close collaboration with internal stakeholders.
- Use external intelligence, internal data and client feedback, working with stakeholders to shape and implement continuous improvements across the group.
- Ensure appropriate cross collaboration occurs with internal stakeholders, so that content is derived from complied, ‘golden sources’.
- Work with senior stakeholders to understand how strategic initiatives involving distribution into new channels/geographies impacts Proposal content.
- Identify and implement training and development initiatives to facilitate employee development, and aid production of high-quality collateral.
- Undertake regular audits of output for quality control purposes.
- Drive innovation to ensure we are creating a best in market proposals function using technology, data and AI to drive decision making.
Skills and knowledge:
- Have experience working in a similar role in Financial Services, the Investment or Wealth Management industry.
- Have experience working with Sales Teams.
- Skilled Proposal writer (minimum five years’ experience in an investment/wealth management or private banking business).
- Line management experience, demonstrating ability to lead and develop a highly skilled team.
- Solid investment knowledge, including strong grasp of the asset management industry, products and services/financial marketing.
- Good interpersonal skills and the ability to develop productive relationships with internal customers and investment professionals.
- Ability to take complex information from multiple sources to form coherent and engaging responses.
- The ability to analyse and interpret information critically.
- Demonstrate excellent attention to detail, and a keen eye for accuracy and consistency.
- The ability to multi-task, work under pressure, within tight deadlines, yet maintain a high level of professionalism and produce quality output.
- Able to adhere, and ensure the adherence of the team, to agreed processes, procedures and best practice.
