As our Communications Coordinator, you will support the Corporate Affairs and Communications team with issues monitoring for beIN MEDIA GROUP (BMG) and the wider network of businesses the team supports. Reporting to the Director, Corporate Affairs & Communications, you will be the eyes and ears of all media and social media chatter and intelligence. You will deliver daily monitoring and reactive issues monitoring that will help shape, manage and deliver the executive strategy of the Chairman and the Group CEO (GCEO), and support on research and briefings for all positions of the Chairman and GCEO – to help inform speeches, political meetings, media meetings and business critical matters.
Key responsibilities:
- Monitor for key issues on any matter related to the Chairman and GCEO, BMG and the wider network of businesses, as well as related industry news, throughout the day;
- Deliver multiple comprehensive daily media reports based on the above monitoring, in conjunction with the relevant external Communications agencies;
- Monitor for key issues on any matter related to crises and/or special projects, and produce additional compilation reports where needed;
- Conduct relevant research into a range of topics, developments, related parties and industry news, and produce comprehensive briefing packs summarising key findings and takeaways;
- Support the External Relations Manager on all stakeholder workstreams;
- Support Social Responsibility & Internal Communications Manager to conduct relevant research on best practice and benchmarking;
- Support and contribute to any ad-hoc monitoring, research and briefing pack production for additional projects and workstreams, as needed.
Essential skills and requirements:
- Demonstrated research and communications experience within an international organisation or agency
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Experience in rapid response research for senior stakeholder management
- Previous exposure to internal communications
- Confidence of gathering social media intelligence, sometimes from non-English sources
- Uncompromising attention to detail and organisation skills; excellent ability to work to strict deadlines
- Proficiency in PowerPoint, Excel and Word
- High levels of emotional intelligence, proactivity, and discretion
- Knowledge of the sports, entertainment and media sectors, particularly in the MENA region and Qatar specifically, would be advantageous
