We are currently seeking an experienced Appointed Person to oversee and coordinate lifting operations at our site in South Shields. This is a key role ensuring all lifting activities are planned, executed, and documented safely and in line with relevant regulations and best practices.
Key Responsibilities:
- Plan and supervise all lifting operations on site in compliance with LOLER and PUWER regulations.
- Prepare lift plans, method statements, and risk assessments.
- Liaise with crane operators, riggers, and site management to ensure safe execution of lifting tasks.
- Carry out site inspections to assess lift requirements and constraints.
- Ensure all lifting equipment is certified, inspected, and fit for purpose.
- Maintain accurate records and documentation related to lifting operations.
- Promote a culture of safety and ensure adherence to site health and safety procedures.
Requirements:
- CPCS Appointed Person (Lifting Operations) or equivalent qualification.
- Proven experience planning and managing lifting operations in a construction, marine, or industrial environment.
- Strong knowledge of relevant legislation and safety standards.
- Excellent communication and coordination skills.
- Able to obtain or currently hold BPSS clearance.
