The Opportunity
Reporting to the Operations Shift Manager, the OLL manages the effectiveness of up to two functional areas or lines at the Middlesbrough factory. Responsible for safety, food safety, and achieving KPIs related to Safety, Quality, Cost, and Efficiency. Prioritizing safety, promoting a safe working environment, and fostering a safety culture are paramount. Develop housekeeping standards, task lists, and audit compliance to 5S standards. Identify hazards and reduce risks in the workplace. Conduct risk assessments for all operations. Lead safety meetings to monitor safety culture. Create SOPs and diagnose operational tasks for improvement. Review material usage via systems like Yields, scan data, and SAP. Analyze data to share insights with the team and leadership. Perform basic problem solving. Manage KPIs such as OEE, CTP, Q, EHS, and YIELD. Ensure effective two-way communication. Deliver or facilitate training for line teams. Maintain hygiene and food safety standards. Support workplace organization using 5S methodology. Train team members in SOPs. Identify skills gaps and manage production rota accordingly. Maintain inventory protocols like scanning and material control.

- Experience in the food industry preferred.
