Team Leader – Specialist Disability Accommodation (Wallsend)
Due to ongoing growth, we’re seeking a dynamic Team Leader to oversee a new Specialist Disability Accommodation complex in Wallsend. Reporting to the Service Manager, you\’ll provide leadership and guidance to Disability Support Workers, coordinate care for NDIS participants with varying needs, and liaise with internal teams and stakeholders to ensure quality outcomes.
You’ll bring strong leadership experience, with a solid understanding of staff supervision and high-quality service delivery. Responsibilities include managing Service Agreements, restrictive practices, Individual Support Plans, and risk profiles, while collaborating with Roster and Funding teams to align participant budgets with support needs.
Exceptional communication is essential for engaging daily with team members, participants, and external stakeholders. You\’ll also champion a positive, values-driven workplace culture that prioritises engagement, recognition, and adherence to policies and procedures.
Selection Criteria
- Minimum Certificate III Individual Support, or related field.
- At least 2 years’ experience leading teams supporting participants with complex needs, including mental health, intellectual disabilities, and personal care.
- Strong knowledge of Disability Standards, NDIS Practice Standards and Code of Conduct, Aged Care Standards and Charter of Rights, and WHS regulations.
- Demonstrated ability to build strong stakeholder relationships, including strong skills in communication, and conflict resolution.
- Experience in team management, including performance oversight, coaching, and mentoring.
- High attention to detail with accurate data entry and advanced computer/CRM skills.
- NDIS Worker Screening Check,
- Working with Children Check,
- Unrestricted Driver Licence and own vehicle, and
- COVID-19 Vaccination (minimum two doses).
