This role will cover Sheffield, Barnsley, Rotherham, Chesterfield and Doncaster in the Yorkshire region, helping Yorkshire Water to provide the best service to customers. Could this be you? Working type: These are permanent opportunities working 37 hours per week, working rotational work patterns. Once fully trained, you will be expected to take part in an out of hours standby, therefore flexibility outside of working core hours is essential. Customer Field Services are a key part of how we plan to meet the changing expectations of customers and regulators. Where you fit: The Network Controller is a field-based role with some office working where required. Working with the management team to improve customer service and sewer system performance. Responsible for ensuring a first-time fix solution for customers and the environment whilst ensuring quality follow-on work is raised in accordance with our standards and specifications. Current demand is such, that we require Network Controllers focused on supporting the pollution team with site visits for pollutions and escapes across wastewater assets as well as supporting networks within Customer Field Services. Initially this will be the main responsibilities of successful applicants. Ownership of investigations linking to our ODI performance. Dealing with escalated issues from the sewer systems and working to ensure they are resolved or progressed in a timely fashion. Supporting with delivering a “first time fix” / same day solution to customer and environmental problems and to deliver the asset plan for network maintenance to eliminate escapes. You will work closely with other Yorkshire Water teams and our contracted partners on site to resolve and manage escalated operational issues on the sewers. You will undertake thorough and timely investigation of escalated issues on our sewerage system to resolve and prevent repeat issues & customer contacts and support operational teams with investigations into sewer asset problems. You will need to be able to utilise IT systems to collate information and relay feedback and progress rechargeable works. You will ensure Health and Safety working practices & procedures are always complied with. When making day to day business decisions you will be required to demonstrate financial awareness and provide technical support to ensure a fix first time resolution & ensuring that the most cost-effective resolution is promoted. What skills, experience, and training you will need: Previous experience in a customer facing related role with face-to-face communication with customers is an essential requirement of this role. You will have previous wastewater experience and have a good knowledge and understanding of Drainage and Sewer Networks. A strong health & safety background and be proficient in the use of IT systems and the ability to work with technical equipment. You will also have excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to find faults and diagnose the root cause of an issue and have previous experience of capturing evidence and feedback. Excellent communication skills are essential with the ability to influence outcomes and make decisions whilst delivering against business targets. You will be required to travel to different operational sites across the region therefore a full valid driving licence (with no more than six points) is required for the role. It is essential that you have a flexible attitude to your work along with the ability to develop and maintain effective internal and external relationships, whilst clearly demonstrating the Yorkshire Water values and behaviours. As part of this role, you may be required to work within confined spaces, any successful candidate must pass strict medical criteria including, BMI, vision, blood pressure, hearing, and Spirometry tests to ensure your full safety when working in hazardous environments.
