Environmental Conditions: Adherence to all Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) Safety Standards, Laboratory Setting, Office, Some degree of PPE (Personal Protective Equipment) required (safety glasses, gowning, gloves, lab coat, ear plugs etc.), Strong Odors (chemical, lubricants, biological products etc.), Will work with hazardous/toxic materials.
Position Summary: Process owner for housekeeping for the team, performing and training of laboratory cleaning and maintaining laboratory supplies to support QC testing. Position performs quality control testing of intermediate and finished goods according to set procedures with due regard to product availability and integrity. Perform routine calibrations on all instruments within the laboratory and trains others in the team to perform these. Operate within ISO 9001, 13485 and DNA forensic ISO 18385 quality requirements. The position impacts the ability to fulfil production schedules. Decisions taken affect quality and integrity of products.
Key Responsibilities:
- Performing quality control testing of intermediate and finished goods according to set procedures.
- Contributing to laboratory housekeeping, cleaning, and consumable supply maintenance.
- Performing batch review of quality control documents for bulk, intermediate and FG QC tests.
- Performing and training of instrument calibration and calibration schedule upkeep.
- Leading or taking part in process improvements, development projects, as well as contributing towards the resolution of quality issues.
- Train others, once trained, to the appropriate level in an operation, and update training records.
Education: High School Diploma, Secondary Education, Advanced Certificate, or equivalent.
Experience:
- Required: Minimum of 2 years of work experience in QA or QC or related field.
- Preferred: Experience in a cGMP environment or other highly regulated environment.
Knowledge, Skills, Abilities:
- Performance Under Pressure: Ability to work well in a fast-paced setting.
- Microbiology Proficiency: Skilled in laboratory techniques including physical, fertility, performance, filtration, and contamination testing.
