A Data Platform Engineer is needed to join a growing Commodities Trading company at the forefront of the global Oil & Gas markets – as they are looking to heavily invest in the Enterprise Data Platform to support smarter and faster trading decisions. This is a unique opportunity to work in a central data architecture team that sets the standards for data engineering across the organisation.
This role will be hands on with core responsibilities consisting of building and maintaining the core data infrastructure that powers analytics, trading, and operational insights across the business. As a Data Platform Engineer, you’ll be working with tech such as: Snowflake, Dagster, Terraform, & AWS and will play a key role in shaping the future of the firm’s data ecosystem.
This Data Platform Engineer role is a 6-month rolling contract paying up to £800 per day, Inside IR35. Hybrid working: 3 days a week from Central London.
Key Responsibilities:- Design, build, and maintain enterprise-grade data platforms and ETL pipelines using Dagster and Python.
- Lead the adoption and integration of Snowflake as the firm transitions from legacy technologies.
- Collaborate with internal dev teams to test and deploy new technologies.
- Implement Infrastructure as Code using Terraform to automate platform orchestration.
- Ensure alignment with enterprise-wide data architecture standards.
- Support CI/CD practices and DevOps workflows for data engineering.
- Work in a cloud environment such as AWS but also work in on-prem too.
- Work in a regulated environment, ideally with experience in Capital Markets or Commodities.
