Responsibilities To provide a safe environment for patients who are on One to One Supervision for Suicide Precautions, Behavioral Restraints, Line of Sight or Patient Safety. Training will be provided as part of new hire orientation. Responsible for the safety of the Patients under the direction of the Registered Nurse. Must be able to work in situations with isolation precautions. Provide frequent checks on patients that have a Patient Watch Order. Provide direction to patient to ensure that they do not fall or wander off. Record and Document patient behavior. Must be able to travel with patient when needed Other duties and/or projects as assigned Adheres to HMH Organizational competencies and standards of behavior. Qualifications Education, Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Required: High School diploma, general equivalency diploma (GED), and/or GED equivalent programs. The ability to stay mobile according to the patients\’ movement including the ability to stand for periods of time. Must be able to work in situations with isolation precautions. Education, Knowledge, Skills And Abilities Preferred Previous work experience in a hospital setting preferred. Experience as a Patient Care Technician, Nursing Assistant, Medical Assistant, EMT, Nurse Aide Training, or current Nursing/Psychology student are all preferred. Licenses And Certifications Required Basic Life Support (BLS) from the American Heart Association (AHA) is required prior to performing patient observation. Compensation Starting at $17.12 Hourly HMH is committed to pay equity and transparency for our team members. The posted rate of pay in this job posting is a reasonable good faith estimate of the minimum base pay for this role at the time of posting in accordance with the New Jersey Pay Transparency Act and does not reflect the full value of our market-competitive total rewards package. Budget and Grant Funding: Departmental budgets and any grant funding associated with the job position may impact the pay that can be offered. Some jobs may also be eligible for performance-based incentives, bonuses, or commissions not reflected in the starting rate. Certain positions may also be eligible for shift differentials for work performed on evening, night, or weekend shifts.
