Fimador is currently partnering with a private equity firm in their quest to find an Associate to join their successful team. Due to continued growth, they are looking for an Associate with experience in private equity/private markets, particularly relating to due diligence and/or fund portfolio construction and investment.

They are a small team; therefore, this would be a β€˜hands-on’ role working across all business activities, but you would have a particular focus on their investor advisory activity. You would be involved with business origination, mapping the private equity market, in-depth fund due diligence, fund investing, portfolio construction, cash flow projections, and client reporting.

This is a compelling opportunity to get first-hand experience across many disciplines, meeting with clients and some of the best private equity managers in the world at an early stage and offer super career development.

Key aspects of this role would include:

  • Portfolio management - providing support with programme management & development, constructing cash flow models, assessing diversification
  • Responsibility for sourcing appropriate fund/investment opportunities
  • Provide due diligence on fund investment opportunities through meeting private equity firms and studying their documentation. For example, this would include reviewing the performance track record and deal details, opportunity set, the merits of the strategy, the team, terms and legal documents
  • Writing up investment summaries for discussion at the Investment Committee ahead of sharing with clients for their consideration.
  • General client management, including attending meetings; responding to ad hoc queries; preparing update notes; regular programme reports.
  • Support with the origination of new clients, including outreach, preparation of materials, and follow-ups

We are seeking a driven individual with an excellent academic background (undergraduate degree in relevant field). Masters in Mathematics, Economics, Finance or relevant field and/or certification (CFA) would be a valuable asset.

2+ years of experience within private equity or top tier investment banking

Strong research, analytical, financial modelling, valuation, problem-solving skills and ability to think creatively

Strong IT skills, including Excel, PowerPoint and Word.

Strong communication skills, verbal and written.

Strong organisational skills and the ability to manage several tasks and deadlines concurrently

A self-starter who is equally able to work within a team as well as independently.
