JOBPURPOSE:
To provide coordination and leadership on all elements of Continuous improvement across the business. To manage, work with, and influence all levels of management and employees in driving business improvement opportunities, adding real value to strategic planning. The CIT Manager will be responsible for creating a consistent approach to quality, cost, delivery, efficiency, and continuous improvement across the Bristol plant through the application of such principles as Lean Manufacturing, Kaizen and Six Sigma problem solving tools. Motivation and leadership using excellent communication skill to deliver key ideas. To co-ordinate and manage all elements of continuous Improvements to maximise quality and financial advantage
YOUR ROLE:
- Lead the understanding, development, and deployment of Policy Deployment (PD) throughout the plant to determine key business objectives. Effectively communicate PD through the Organization and ensure the necessary PD processes are in place to implement the Initiatives.
- Lead the development and implementation of CI strategies and projects supporting business goals from Policy Deployment and Voice of the Customer across the Bristol plant driving improvements in quality, performance, delivery, and cost. –
- To ensure Work-Out, Lean Six Sigma, Process Management and RCM improvement models are applied consistently across the Bristol plant through combination of audits and meetings to deliver better value. –
- To deliver sustainable improvements in customer experience, productivity & efficiency, staff engagement and in the shortest possible time whilst identifying and tracking real and auditable financial benefits.
- Standardisation harmonising and monitoring progress of CI within the organization including the external supply chain.
- Identify and deliver training programmes to support knowledge transfer in lean thinking and capability in others through hands on education, coaching, training & application of CI principles and tools at the Bristol plant.
- Create an environment that enables real time problem identification, analysis & resolution at the appropriate level in the organisation.
- To build effective relationships with key stakeholders to include, Technical, Machinery, Sales as well as all Operations teams in driving key improvements that cut across functional boundaries.
- Provide reports to the Plant Manager and corporate division on CI savings, quality metrics, Lean and RCM progress monthly.
- Ensure key customers and suppliers are aware of CI progress using regular reviews, participation in lean events where appropriate and using Voice of the Customer
YOUR PROFILE:
- Proven experience in CI and Lean Six Sigma, Process Management and RCM tools with leadership across organizations
- Role model in all activities the 6P’s of Lean Leadership – Partnering, Process, Performance, People, Purpose and Problem Solving
- Confidence and motivation to act as ambassador for CI and build Lean Leadership capability in others through coaching, training, and facilitating interventions.
- Ability to apply logical, fact-finding approaches to analyse, summarise problem solve develop and implement solutions whilst involving key people across the organisation to complex business problems.
- Ability to plan, implement and track projects to successful resolution within defined timescales.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills appropriate for different audiences across the organisation.
- Stakeholder engagement and management skills, including the ability to question and challenge assumptions.
- Capable of influencing, negotiating and motivating others to get cooperation and action without having direct control to ensure support and buy-in to cross-department initiatives.
- Ability to take initiative as problems or opportunities arise.
- Good team player, good coaching skills and can develop other co-workers.
- Ability to encourage and motivate others to be successful.
- Experience within a manufacturing environment (ideally print and / or packaging).
- Computer skills including the use of Microsoft Excel, Outlook, and Word.
- Computer literate able to use Avante (training will be provided).
- Excellent Attention to detail.
- Experience with quality standards.
- Root cause analysis techniques. Experience within a supervisory role, and of managing through people.
- Experience of presenting
- Experience working in a large manufacturing / project environment are essential
- Knowledge and experience in applying of Six Sigma or Lean Six Sigma
- Qualified to a minimum HNC (mechanical or electronic discipline desirable) –
- Knowledge of Statistical Analysis and Microsoft Office Application
