We are seeking an experienced and innovative Director, Site Reliability Engineering (SRE) to lead the strategy, operations, and development of our reliability engineering practices. In this critical leadership role, you will drive the design, implementation, and evolution of systems and processes to ensure the reliability, scalability, and performance of our technology platforms.
WHAT YOU WILL DO
- Develop and implement the overall SRE strategy for OMS pillars, including policies, standards, and practices along with SRE leaders.
- Drive the adoption of SRE principles such as SLAs to measure and improve system reliability.
- Collaborate with engineering and product teams to design and build systems with reliability and scalability in mind.
- Serve as a thought leader, championing a culture of operational excellence and continuous improvement.
- Set clear objectives, monitor performance, and provide regular feedback to team members.
- Ensure the team has the skills, tools, and resources needed to achieve operational excellence.
- Drive the development and adoption of automation frameworks to reduce toil and improve operational efficiency.
- Optimize CI/CD pipelines and other engineering processes to enable rapid and reliable deployments.
- Continuously improve infrastructure as code practices and configuration management.
- Partner with cross-functional teams to align reliability efforts with product and business goals.
- Serve as an advocate for reliability best practices within the organization, promoting knowledge sharing and collaboration.
- Regularly report on system health, reliability metrics, and improvement initiatives to executive leadership.
Skills and Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
- Experience in SRE, DevOps, or infrastructure roles, with experience within a leadership position.
- Proven track record of building and managing scalable, reliable, and secure systems in high-growth or large-scale environments.
- Strong expertise in cloud platforms (AWS, GCP, Azure) and container orchestration tools (Kubernetes, Docker).
- Deep knowledge of monitoring, logging, and observability tools (e.g., Prometheus, Grafana, Datadog, Splunk).
- Proficiency in programming or scripting languages (e.g., Python, Go, Bash).
- Experience with incident management, post-mortems, and implementing preventative measures.
- Solid understanding of networking, databases, and distributed systems.
- Exceptional leadership, communication, and collaboration skills.
- Certifications in cloud platforms, SRE, or related technologies (e.g., AWS Certified Solutions Architect, Kubernetes Certified Administrator).
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities, with a focus on data-driven decision-making.
