Are you an experienced SQL Data Engineer / Developer? Do you have strong experience in Microsoft SSIS? Would you like to work for a leading financial services company who are enjoying a time of strong growth? They offer very flexible hybrid working and have an office in Edinburgh & Glasgow. This is a 24 month Fixed Term Contract (salaried). This role is not open to sponsorship and you need to live within commuting distance of one of the offices.
Key responsibilities:
- Design & develop solutions that meet the needs of the business and are consistent with the overall technology strategy.
- Ensures adherence to standards through training and education.
- Follows procedures to ensure successful implementation and promotion of code using source control.
- Participates in project work as required.
- Works with the Development Team Leader to plan/schedule work, regularly reporting progress and issues.
- Be involved in testing strategies.
- Consider the full data lifecycle when delivering a solution.
- Work with the data team to ensure that data principles & data strategy are considered when analysing data.
- Ensure all supporting data models and supporting documentation is produced and maintained.
Required skills:
- Strong experience querying Microsoft SQL Server.
- Highly experienced in SSIS.
- SSRS is ideal.
- SQL Scripting and performance tuning.
- Able to design, create, maintain database objects such as tables, views, stored procedures and functions.
- Ability to demonstrate good collaboration skills with other team members, particularly providing input and feedback on requirements and design.
- Experience of Data Warehousing would be highly advantageous as would knowledge of PL/SQL and Visual Studio - C#.
