KEY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE: Actively promote a positive and collaborative workplace culture that supports the Charity’s purpose of Making Life Better and i-care values to increase morale, productivity, and performance. Assist the Finance Manager in audit planning and the production of statutory accounts in line with the agreed timescale, managing specific elements as directed. Support the budget preparation process and contribute to business planning, taking responsibility for managing designated parts. Monitor budgets and prepare monthly management reports. Manage the financial ledger, including monthly reconciliations and journals. Prepare quarterly VAT returns. Provide financial advice to budget holders on budget determination and related finance matters, ensuring compliance with High Life Highland’s Financial Regulations and legislation (mainly VAT). Liaise with The Highland Council regarding banking & treasury queries. Assist in procurement process management and control. Compile statistical returns. Contribute financially to new developments within High Life Highland. Maintain and implement systems, policies, and procedures to improve financial management. Oversee the grant register and monitor grant claim procedures. Line manage finance staff and support others within the finance function. Serve as the designated Purchase Card Officer and control purchase cards as required. Stay informed about legislative regulations to maintain effective financial controls. Participate in financial training delivery. Follow working practices, undertake relevant training, and adapt to new systems. Pursue professional development and contribute to organizational improvement. Attend training sessions, online or in person. Strive to reduce wastage and promote sustainability in all tasks. Support other areas of High Life Highland with projects, training, or coverage during absences.
