This is a key second-line role supporting the Investments Team — helping them make informed, risk-aware decisions that balance ambition with compliance and long-term sustainability. The Risk Business Partner will act as an independent advisor to the Investments Team, embedding strong risk management practices into day-to-day operations and strategic decision-making. The ideal candidate will bring both technical risk expertise and the interpersonal skills to collaborate effectively with senior stakeholders.
Key Responsibilities- Risk Advisory
- Serve as an independent risk advisor to the Investments Team, providing challenge and insight
- Support delivery of the organisation’s risk framework (e.g., asset allocation, modelling)
- Join regular meetings with portfolio managers and analysts to advise on risk implications of strategy
- Risk Identification & Assessment
- Work closely with investment professionals to identify and assess investment risks
- Evaluate external factors such as economic or geopolitical developments
- Monitoring & Reporting
- Build and maintain tools and dashboards to monitor key risk indicators
- Produce regular risk reports for leadership and investment teams
- Ensure compliance with agreed risk limits and business objectives
- Mitigation & Controls
- Recommend mitigation strategies and help implement control measures
- Adjust the risk profile as needed to remain within tolerance thresholds
- Governance & Compliance
- Act as a liaison between investment and risk functions
- Support audit preparation and regulatory compliance efforts
- Proven experience in a first- or second-line risk role (investment risk experience desirable)
- Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to influence and challenge constructively
- Highly organised, detail-oriented, and able to work in a matrixed environment
- Proficient with Microsoft Office and risk systems (GRC tools)
