JOB PURPOSE: This office-based role in the legal team will work closely with the R&M events team to deliver key assistance to the legal team and drive efficiencies across the legal function. This role involves contract management, some contract review and negotiation with clients and venues, and monitoring and liaising with all departments across the business.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Providing legal support across the business.
- Assistance with drafting a wide range of commercial agreements and legal documents.
- Working in line with client contract riders as appropriate.
- Working directly with conference, trade show and exhibition organisers on client sponsorship contracts.
- Initial point of contact for ad-hoc legal queries and ensuring that requests are addressed in a timely manner.
- Assistance with photocopying, scanning and general administrative duties when required.
- Organisation and compilation of files for legal matters.
- Analysing contracts and drafting letters.
- Performing other duties as assigned by the legal department from time to time including ad-hoc research.

REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE & EXPERIENCE:
- Law degree (or equivalent).
- An understanding of commercial awareness with a willingness to develop.
- A ‘can-do’ attitude and a team player who would like to develop as a lawyer or is keen to be a career paralegal.
- Competent in use of Microsoft Office suite – particularly Word.
PREFERRED EXPERIENCE:
- A minimum of 6 months’ experience working as a commercial or corporate paralegal in a city law firm or large corporate or financial services organisation.
- Some knowledge of GDPR and Data Protection laws.
- Completion of LPC or BVC.
- Some contract review and drafting experience.
- Experience in events management.
- Some knowledge of company secretarial matters.
- Knowledge of contract management best practices.
- European languages, especially Spanish, a bonus.
