The Nursery Nurse reports to the Manager and Deputy Manager. Responsibilities include:
- Adhering to Nursery Policies & Procedures, complying with the Children Act, Health and Safety legislation, and guidelines from Ofsted and the EYFS.
- Maintaining confidentiality within the nursery.
- Working collaboratively as part of a team.
- Providing care and supervision tailored to children's physical, emotional, and intellectual needs.
- Planning and preparing activities to meet individual needs, liaising with parents, and setting working targets to ensure effective communication within the nursery.
- Promoting equal opportunities for all children, respecting their religious, racial, gender, disability, cultural, or linguistic backgrounds, and addressing any instances of racism or discrimination.
- Keeping development records and observations.
- Managing children's behaviour positively.
- Ensuring the cleanliness, maintenance, and safety of playrooms and equipment.
- Supervising and mentoring Nursery Assistants and Students.
- Acting as a role model for staff and assisting new team members to integrate.
- Recording and monitoring accident, incident, and risk assessments.
- Supervising meals and mealtimes, including preparing bottles for babies when necessary.
- Performing laundry duties.
- Attending staff meetings as scheduled by the Nursery Manager and Deputy Manager.
- Participating in parent evenings, publicity events, open weekends, and children's outings.
- Performing any other duties relevant to the role as directed by the Deputy or Nursery Manager.
