Software (Test) Engineer

Division: GBS The Role: We are looking for a forward-thinking ISEB/ISTQB certified Test Engineer who is pragmatic, self-starting, and believes testing is a pivotal role in the development of systems. Euroclear is evaluating the migration of CREST from COBOL programs running on the HPE NonStop Guardian platform to new technology capable of running on either HPE NonStop OSS or on a commoditized platform such as Linux. This migration will be an incremental process over several years. The new technology will be Java-based and will utilize Event Hub technology (such as Kafka) for integration between the migrated services and the legacy CREST system. This Test Engineer role will be part of a Scrum Team focusing on enhancements to the existing CREST legacy applications and, in the future, on developing CREST modernized services and applications. Main Responsibilities: Understand and contribute to the Test Strategy and Test Approach, challenging where necessary Review and understand Functional and Technical documentation (Requirements / Design) to create Test Scenarios/Test Cases (Manual and Automated) Peer review and execute Test Scenarios/Test Cases (Manual and Automated) Manage defects throughout the lifecycle, including analysis and triage Collaborate effectively within the squad and across all squads in the Tribe Manage stakeholder expectations and report testing progress accurately Ensure the quality of test artefacts produced Participate in Agile ceremonies and activities, aiming to become a cross-trained, ‘T-Shaped’ squad member Work with squad members across various locations, both on-shore and off-shore Skill Set: Proven experience as a Test Engineer in an Agile environment Experience in the Finance Industry (desirable but not essential) Strong SQL skills Automation experience using UFT, Selenium Technical/Business knowledge: CREST application, CREST messaging, Tandem, Windows, UNIX, SWIFT messaging, Java ISEB/ISTQB Foundation Certificate in Software Testing #J-18808-Ljbffr
