Job Overview
We are inviting applications from dynamic, experienced Senior MRI Radiographers to work in a diverse MRI Radiographers team at East Kent Hospital University NHS Foundation Trust. The MRI department provides a wide range of high-quality imaging for the community and the wider population in East Kent.
Main duties of the job
The post holder will be required to work in a team primarily within the based site with regular rotation between CDC sites across east Kent trust. Responsibilities include:
- Performing a range of MRI procedures including complex clinical cases.
- Managing patient priorities as appropriate.
- Training and supervising junior members of staff, students, and other trainees.
- Working without direct supervision or support in out-of-hours service.
- Contributing towards effective and responsive delivery of MRI services.
- Assisting in and managing workflow and ensuring all data inputs are recorded.
- Promoting the highest professional and technical standards in the department.
- Participating in the Governance of the Department in areas including Risk Management, Health and Safety, Research, and Audit activities.
Person specification
- Basic academic qualification: BSc Radiography or Equivalent, MSc in Radiography or specialised area.
- Current Experience in MRI: 4 years or more in a busy MRI department.
- Held a Senior MRI Radiographer post previously: 4 years or more.
- Recent Experience of operating a Philips 1.5T / 3T scanner: 2 years or more.
Skills
- Leadership skills and experience in teaching or leading a team.
- Ability to motivate and encourage staff.
- Involvement in service change programmes or initiated changes within Radiology.
Knowledge
- Excellent knowledge of Basic and advanced MRI physics.
- Up-to-date knowledge in MRI safety and practice.
- Ability to manage IT systems in a complex hospital environment.
Clinical Skill
- Able to perform Neuro imaging, Body and breast Imaging, Advanced neuro / Abdominal imaging.
