Hybrid working – office in London

We’re currently partnered with an ambitious start-up who are set for huge growth and they are now looking for a Founding Engineer to join them as they continue to scale. After recently raising $4 million in seed funding, the business combines AI and consumer trends to create a personalised shopping experience that is saving customers time and reducing the overwhelm of purchasing products online.

They are now looking to launch their mobile app in the next couple of months and you’ll play a vital role in scaling and growing the app as the business continues through their journey of growth. The app has previously been built in React Native, however they are flexible on whether you continue with React Native or come with more Swift experience – it’s up to you which mobile technology you think is best for the app!

What will you be doing:

  • Play a vital role in developing and building a new-to-the-world platform that helps customers with the daily challenges of figuring out which product to buy and how to get the most from their purchase.
  • Design and build new product interfaces for how the business will interact with AI.
  • Help shape their product for future role, but also play an important role in shaping their engineering culture and implementing best practices.

What are they looking for:

  • Previous experience of working within a start-up environment where you’ve been involved in the full life-cycle of the product would be advantageous.
  • Experience in developing intuitive, responsive and accessible mobile frontends.
  • Launching 0-1 projects either in a commercial role or on personal projects using AI tools to accelerate this.
  • Customer and product mindset – they are driven by their consumers and how they can get the best experience and value from their platform.
  • Whilst their current tech stack is React Native, Expo, TypeScript – they are flexible and actively exploring alternative frameworks to build on the right stack whether that’s in Flutter, Swift or Lynx!
