School Overview: KGS is a modern, vibrant school with approximately 850 pupils, serving Kirkwall, the East Mainland, Orphir, and the North and South Isles. About 60 students are accommodated in Papdale Halls of Residence during term time.
Job Summary: We seek an enthusiastic and skilled teacher committed to improvement and excellence. The successful candidate will be empathetic, positive, and capable of supporting students from S1-S6, including vulnerable pupils, to overcome barriers to learning and participation. Building effective relationships and working collaboratively with colleagues to meet diverse needs is essential.
Responsibilities:
- Managing a House Group in partnership with a DHT House Head.
- Contributing to curriculum development and delivery.
- Supporting health and wellbeing, safeguarding, and transitions.
- Working as part of a strong, well-resourced team focused on improving student outcomes.
Requirements:
- Registration or in the process of registering with the General Teaching Council for Scotland.
- Membership of the PVG Scheme (or willingness to obtain).
