KNOWLEDGE

\\n

\\n

Operational knowledge of housing policy and related legislation is desirable to deliver accurate information and make balanced judgements within statutory requirements & strict guidelines. 

\\n

The jobholder should have experience of dealing with vulnerable and disadvantaged customers, and have knowledge of giving welfare related advice and signposting to support networks. Knowledge of housing and related legislation in the operation of Council policies and procedures

\\n

Knowledge of MS Office or similar Spreadsheet and Word processing applications is essential.

\\n

CIH Level 2, including English, or SVQ equivalent combined with necessary experience. A diploma in Housing Studies is a desirable qualification.

\\n

If the jobholder does not meet the educational criteria, they will have to evidence they have the capacity to meet the educational standard.

\\n

The jobholder requires knowledge of a wide range of jobs and associated activities and will generally need an extended period of relevant working experience to become fully competent & familiar with all aspects of the job (2 years).

Please note that it is Midlothian Councils policy that successful applicants will be appointed to the first point on the salary scale.

\\n

Based on 36 hours over 52 weeks per year, the minimum actual salary for this position is £30,243.53 per annum.

Compliance with the mandatory Cabinet Office PSN (Public Sector Network) Code of Connection requires the Council to meet a baseline personal security standard. This requires completion of a disclosure check for all employees who can access official information. The fee for this PSN Disclosure check will be met by you.
