QC Scientist 1

Position Summary

  • Work Schedule: Monday – Friday 37.5 per week.

Our Swindon facility houses our Zydis® fast dissolving tablet development and manufacturing operation as well as a CMC pharmaceutical analytical lab services unit that offers ASAP stability.

Join our dynamic Quality Control team as a QC Scientist 1 in Swindon, where you\’ll play a key role in supporting product release, stability studies, and in-process validation. This is a hands‑on analytical position with opportunities to grow your technical expertise and contribute to high-impact pharmaceutical projects.

The Role

  • Perform Finished Product QC release testing under supervision using techniques such as balances, pH meter, UV, Karl Fischer, FT-IR, TLC, and dissolution.
  • Conduct analytical testing for stability and process validation following test plans, with guidance as needed.
  • Use LIMS for data entry and Qumas for document access.
  • Follow written instructions accurately, maintaining minimal method deviations.
  • Deliver consistent analytical output with acceptable Right First Time (RFT) performance in notebooks and testing.
  • Manage daily tasks with supervision, including interpreting product tracking sheets, identifying correct specifications, and completing work within set timeframes.
  • Recognize out-of-specification results and understand out-of-trend procedures.
  • Participate in lab rotas and support ordering via VMI and Kanban systems.
  • Maintain lab cleanliness and organization in line with 5S principles.
  • Comply with GMP standards, including documentation and Compliancewire tasks.
  • Adhere to EH&S protocols, raise SOSs, and follow Risk & COSHH assessments.

  • Knowledge of HPLC
  • Degree in Scientific subject or equivalent technical knowledge
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment.
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to data integrity.
