Nesco Resource is seeking a Data Center Technician in the Heathrow UK area. This is an opportunity to work alongside a premier International IT Service Delivery Integrator for a financial customer where proficient server break-fix skills are necessary.
**This is a full-time opportunity with specific shift requirements**
- $50-52 GBP/yr
- Shift 1: 4 on 4 off, 50/50 mix of days and nights (2 days then 2 nights) – usually 12 hour shifts starting either 7am or 7pm.
- Rotation of Friday to Monday OR Saturday to Tuesday
- Shift 2: mainly days, but would be used to cover gaps for holidays/sickness from the main rotation of 11am-9pm Tuesday to Friday or Wednesday to Saturday; Saturday shifts are 8am-6pm.
Job Description:
The ideal candidate will be responsible for the hardware break/fix support. Experience in software support would be a plus; however, candidate should have some knowledge of Windows, Linux, and Solaris.
- Installs, troubleshoots, and maintains products/equipment (DELL, IBM, and Client Servers).
- Identifies, analyzes, and repairs product failures, orders, and replaces parts as needed.
- Determines and recommends which products or services best fit the customers\’ needs.
- Familiar with a variety of the field\’s concepts, practices, and procedures.
- Relies on experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals.
Experience and Skills Required:
- Possess positive attitude and strong analytical skills
- Must be a self-starter who is able to work independently without supervision and within a team environment
- Must possess a professional demeanor and the ability to develop effective working relationships with end users and stakeholders
- Must be a good team player
- Working experience with Remote Access Cards (IBM RSA, Client iLo, Dell IDRAC)
- Working experience with Client BL/DL/M/Blades/Apollo
- Working experience with DELL 13G/14G servers
- Working experience with IBM servers
- CompTia A Certification is a plus
- CompTia Server Certification is a plus
