We are looking for a Section Leader (night shift) to join our M&S site in Thorncliffe. You’ll lead your team to deliver operational excellence in efficiency, quality, and cost, through the management and development of people, process, facilities and deployment of best practices, within a safe working environment. This is a full-time position, permanent position, where you’ll be working an ‘any 5 from 7’ day shift pattern. The hours of work will be 22:00 – 06:00. Pay, benefits and more: You’ll be paid a salary of up to £36,000.00 with a 9% shift allowance, per annum. You’ll also receive 33 days annual leave (inclusive of bank holidays), as well as the option to buy additional days so you can enjoy a positive work-life balance. What you’ll do on a typical day: Take full responsibility for the day to day running of the warehouse in your area, you’ll lead, motivate and develop your team to achieve targets Manage employee development reviews and assessments to ensure that any development needs identified through the process are met Fully understand the customer and company’s requirements and priorities for your area and team, to incorporate them in all planning and reporting tools, activities, and projects Pro-actively support the site and customer’s continuous improvement initiatives, acting as an advocate on site for cultural change What you need to succeed at GXO: A proven track record at a similar level, within a fast-paced warehouse environment The ability to effectively lead, develop and manage a team, whilst identifying areas for development and recognising success Excellent people skills – our people are what keep our wheels turning and we are extremely proud of our superior workforce Excellent H&S knowledge – we put our people first and do things the right way, the first time We engineer faster, smarter, leaner supply chains.
