Consultant Engineer / Account Director (Based in Suffolk) Basic negotiable from £65,000. Must be based in East Anglia. The Role This role involves leading and managing security design consulting engagements to a professional standard. You will be a Subject Matter Expert in electronic security systems, managing security design and installation projects from conception to completion. Responsibilities include maintaining client and company deliverables, ensuring high quality, and meeting budgets and schedules. You will also develop and strengthen client relationships, facilitating the introduction of additional services where appropriate. Key Responsibilities Understand and adopt the RIBA security overlay for security consulting. Implement NPSA approach to security, CPTED, and SBD. Undertake technical security reviews, audits, design surveys, installation inspections, and approvals at client sites and in the office. Design and specify physical and electronic security systems aligned with RIBA stages, collaborating with specialist engineers. Maintain extensive and current knowledge of Electronic Security Systems (ESS) products and technologies. Proven experience in security integration, design, consulting, or engineering, with a focus on electronic and physical security systems. Deep knowledge of CCTV, VSS, ACS, PIDS, HVM, and other security technologies, with the ability to specify, design, and evaluate these systems. Design physical security measures such as fencing, gates, walls, doors, and facades in conjunction with electronic measures. Coordinate, plan, and execute security projects in complex environments, emphasizing operational safety and security. Experience in the CNI sector with project delivery and maintenance of integrated physical security solutions. Familiarity with industry standards and best practices. The Person Member of a recognized industry body such as ASC or Security Institute, capable of obtaining UK Gov security clearance. Capable of delivering in-house training and developing staff through product training and collaboration with suppliers. Business Development Develop and nurture client relationships, seeking new project opportunities. Participate in business development activities alongside senior management. Assist in marketing and profile-raising events. Attend client meetings.
