Following the recent merger of FGE and NexantECA, two global leaders in energy market intelligence, insight, and consulting, we are expanding our London operations. This role presents an exceptional opportunity for a motivated and analytical individual to advance their career while gaining international exposure to the global oil markets. We are seeking an Oil Analyst to join our growing team. This role involves gathering and interpreting data, building and maintaining supply and demand models, and developing forward-looking forecasts. The successful candidate will work across the barrel on oil product analysis, contributing to our market insights and advisory services. You will collaborate closely with specialists in upstream, refining, energy transition, and macroeconomics, gaining exposure to the full oil value chain. This is an ideal position for someone with a passion for energy markets and data, and who is looking to develop into a regional or subject matter expert.

The Role and Responsibilities
Key Responsibilities:
- Play a key role in developing and maintaining Asian focused oil and refined products models, identifying key trends in the refining market, providing in-depth analysis and interpretation of the impacts.
- Work closely with oil and gas experts in Singapore as well as other regional offices to provide strategic and analytical input to both the short-term and long-term global oil outlook.
- Act as a thought leader, spearhead topical research and analysis work, identify key market trends and deliver market insights through analytical reports (retainer and ad-hoc reports).
- Contribute to and/or lead bespoke projects for clients on oil related topics – either in response to specific requests, or as multi-client reports.
- Maintain regular contact with clients and market participants to gather market information, present views and develop business opportunities.
- Progression towards eventually leading a team of analysts.
Qualifications:
- Strong interest in the energy sector and a genuine passion for data.
- Highly numerate; background in science, engineering, economics, or a related field.
- Proficient in Microsoft Excel (including functions such as VLOOKUP, INDEX, MATCH).
- Strong analytical and financial/economic modelling capabilities.
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Confident presenter with PowerPoint proficiency.
- 1–2 years of industry or relevant experience preferred.
