A fantastic new job opportunity has arisen for a committed Clinical Psychologist to work in an excellent purpose-built care home based in the Workington, Cumbria area. You will be working for one of UK\’s leading health care providers. This service provides care and support to adults with a learning disability, autistic spectrum disorder and/or complex conditions such as mental health issues, personality disorder and behaviours considered as challenging. To be considered for this position you must be registered with the HCPC, BPS accredited and a Chartered Member of the BPS. Key Responsibilities: Participating in the assessment of referrals, and to provide initial assessment service users referred to the service. Undertaking high quality direct (assessment & therapeutic) and indirect (consultative, advisory, and evaluative) specialist psychological interventions and making autonomous clinical decisions. Working therapeutically with service users with complex presentations, undertake the assessments using a broad range of structured psychometric and semi-structured clinical methods. Formulating and implementing plans of specialist psychological treatment or management of patients\’ mental health needs based on a multi-factorial psychological understanding and current evidence-based best practice. Being professionally and legally responsible and accountable for all aspects of clinical work and care. Preferred Skills and Experience: Understanding of evidence-based psychological practice. Experience of applying psychological knowledge to a clinical/neuro context. Experience working with clients with cognitive deficits. Previous experience of conducting research and project working. The successful Clinical Psychologist will receive an excellent salary of GBP70,000 per annum. This exciting position is a permanent full-time role working through days.
