Introduction
The Production Manager is responsible for overseeing the production processes, ensuring efficient and effective operations, and meeting production targets. This role involves managing a team of production staff, coordinating with other departments, and implementing continuous improvement initiatives to enhance productivity and quality.
Job key performance areas
- Ensure compliance with safety regulations and promote a culture of safety within the organisation.
- Oversee daily production operations to ensure adherence to production schedules and quality standards.
- Manage and lead a team of production staff, including training, development, and performance management.
- Coordinate with maintenance, quality control, and other departments to ensure smooth and efficient production processes.
- Monitor production metrics and implement corrective actions to address any deviations from targets.
- Develop and implement continuous improvement initiatives to enhance productivity, reduce costs, and improve product quality.
- Prepare and present production reports to senior management, highlighting key performance indicators and areas for improvement.
- Manage production budgets and control costs to achieve financial targets.

Qualification
- B-Degree (NQF 8/10) in Engineering and preferably completion of a Management Development Program.
Skills and Experience
- 6 years\’ relevant experience, preferably in an industrial environment.
- Minimum of 3 years\’ experience in a managerial role.
- Knowledge of both production and maintenance functions.
