A varied and exciting position, to take on new responsibilities and learn new skills! Seeking an experienced Payroll professional for a small team based in Witham. Responsibilities: Full responsibility for the end-to-end payroll processing. Processing weekly and monthly payrolls for both PAYE and CIS workers accurately and on time, ensuring compliance with company policies and legal requirements (approximately 400 people per week and 30 per month). Verify subcontractors status and handle CIS deductions and submissions to HMRC. Manage timesheets, hours and site attendance records. Maintain and update payroll records, ensuring accuracy and confidentiality. Reconcile all deductions to HMRC and make payment. Reconcile payroll data and prepare reports for management. Respond to payroll related queries from employees and subcontractors. Ensure compliance with UK payroll legislation. Handle pension contributions, tax codes and statutory deductions (PAYE, NI, SMP, SSP, deductions from earnings etc). Reconcile payroll reports and assist with auditors. Support year end processes including P60\’s and P11D\’s. Carry out Right To Work checks. Assist with payroll and CIS due diligence. Assist with HR administration. Experience: Proven experience in end to end payroll processing ideally in the Construction Industry (2+ years). Excellent organisation and communication skills. High level of accuracy and attention to detail. Proficient and confident in using Excel. Knowledge of PAYE, NI, SSP, SMP and all other statutory payments is essential. Experience with payroll systems. Ability to handle sensitive information confidentially. Ability to analyse financial information effectively, identifying issues and proposing solutions.
