Position Details Department of Immunology and Immunotherapy, School of Infection, Inflammation and Immunology, College of Medicine and Health Location: University of Birmingham, Edgbaston, Birmingham, UK Full-time starting salary normally ranges from £43,455 to £73,506 Grade: Clinical Full Time, Fixed Term contract up to 4 years or until CCT, whichever is sooner Closing date: 18th June 2025 Role Summary An NIHR Academic Clinical Lecturer (ACL) post offers doctors in specialty training a combination of 50% clinical specialty training (clinical service provision for GPs) and 50% academic training. Funding is available for a maximum of 4 years or until the trainee achieves their Certificate of Completion of Training (CCT), whichever comes first. The ACL post provides opportunities for post-doctoral research and supports applications for further research funding for doctors working towards completing their specialty training. It is aimed at those demonstrating outstanding potential through doctoral research success and showing potential for development as a clinical academic in research and/or educational research. Applicants should have submitted and fully awarded their final Doctoral thesis by the time of application. The deadline to commence the post is September 1st, 2025.
