A global successful hedge fund mid and high frequency hiring a platform engineer lead. This person will be responsible for the global Ultra-Low Latency Platform engineering. They will lead the design, deployment, and architecture of the high-performance platform to support the trading environment. Additionally, they will automate daily software and hardware tasks while writing and maintaining scripts and tools. The ideal candidate will be self-motivated, proactive, and able to take ownership of projects and lead a team.
Responsibilities:
- Work with application owners to build new and maintain existing application architecture.
- Develop an in-depth understanding of existing application architecture and work on migration.
- Identify and implement solutions to optimize performance and maintain low latency.
- Meet target dates in support of a fast-paced release cycle.
- Bring to bear new technologies and approaches with continuous improvement in mind.
Qualifications:
- Proven track record in crafting, maintaining, improving application architecture.
- Experience designing infrastructure footprint for applications.
- Experience creating Kubernetes environments.
- In-depth understanding of IT infrastructure, Public cloud, DevOps, and Enterprise architecture.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Detailed understanding of high capacity/low latency infrastructure.
- Understanding of build and deployment management and DevOps concepts.
