CMS’s Long-Term Care Basic Training and SMQT certification are required. Impact Recruiting Solutions is seeking an RN Health Care Facility Surveyor to work with a Quality Improvement Consulting Company in a technically engaging environment supporting internal and external customers nationwide.
Responsibilities of the RN Health Care Facility Surveyor:
- The position is 100% remote with up to 75% travel.
- The Surveyor will serve as a team member or team leader on various types of surveys (e.g., re-certification, comparative, complaint investigation, revisits) for long-term care and non-long-term care facilities, including ambulatory surgical centers (ASC), ICFs/IID, ESRD, PRTF, hospitals, critical access hospitals, and hospices.
- The Surveyor conducts surveys to assess compliance with regulations ensuring quality of care for residents and customers.
- Specific activities include:
- Conducting on-site surveys of Medicare-Medicaid certified facilities to determine compliance with Federal regulations.
- Preparing for surveys through off-site research, touring facilities, observing care, reviewing records, and interviewing staff and families to verify care quality and compliance.
- Evaluating various aspects of healthcare facilities, including quality of care, patient rights, and physical environment.
- Communicating deficiencies to key personnel during site reviews and exit conferences to ensure understanding.
- Assessing and determining acceptability of correction plans.
- Following up with monitoring surveys to ensure corrective actions are implemented.
- Assisting with facility and bureau training and participating in work groups as needed.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Associate or Bachelor’s degree in nursing.
- Successful completion of CMS’s Long-Term Care Basic Training and passing the Surveyor Minimum Qualifications Test (SMQT).
- At least two (2) years of recent surveyor experience in certifying or accrediting long-term care facilities.
- Current RN licensure.
- Proven ability for independent decision-making and managing the survey process effectively.
- Ability to prioritize survey tasks independently and collaboratively.
- Strong communication skills for discussing issues and seeking assistance when needed.
- Willingness and ability to travel up to 75% regularly.
Compensation and Benefits:
- Salary: $75,000 - $90,000 per year.
