Job Summary: This role presents a fantastic opportunity for an aspiring apprentice to join our organisation and undertake a Level 3 Advanced Apprenticeship and gain invaluable exposure to the operations and roles within the manufacturing industry. Upon successful completion of the apprenticeship pathway the candidate will take on the role of Applications engineer within the eMobility team. Throughout the apprenticeship and once qualified the successful candidate will work closely with the account management and external sales teams to provide technical support and guidance from first contact to vehicle commissioning supporting the specification and integration of our electrified air compressor solutions. You will be “hands on” and customer focused communicating directly with internal and external stakeholders as part of the role, developing strong communication skills supported by technical knowledge and industry expertise. Supported by the senior applications engineer, you will use and develop a range of engineering skills such as the ability to analyse engineering drawings and manufacturing data to identify solutions for our customers and ensure robust and reliable operation of our products.
Responsibilities:
- Gather and analyse customer systems requirements both mechanical and electronic.
- Support specification of the correct compressor solution and provide technical recommendations to the customer and sales team.
- Provide technical support and guidance during compressor integration.
- Support software integration and customer understanding of compressor control.
- Support ‘customer specific requirements’ and act as the liaison between the customer and internal development team.
- Support in-field technical issues; identifying root causes and taking action to resolve them.
- Gain practical experience and knowledge of our E-Mobility product range through training and on-the-job learning.
- Collaborate with senior engineers and other support staff to deliver effective solutions.
Training Provided: As part of the apprenticeship the candidate will achieve the following qualifications:
- Level 2 Diploma in Advanced Manufacturing and Engineering (Foundation Competence)
- Level 3 BTEC Diploma in Advanced Manufacturing and Engineering (Foundation Knowledge)
- Level 2 Award Foundation Gateway Assessment
- Level 3 Diploma in Advanced Engineering (Developmental Competence/ NVQ)
Throughout the apprenticeship support will be provided by your apprentice supervisor within the team, your line manager and the wider team offering valuable insight and experience to support your development.
Basic Qualifications:
- 5 GCSEs to include: English; Grades 9-5
- Maths; Grades 9-5
- Science or equivalent
Travel & Work Arrangements/Requirements: Site based; Redditch UK 37.5 hours per week Monday – Friday. Some international travel required both during the apprenticeship pathway and when in role.
