As a Customer Support Engineer, you will be the face of Sharp Business Systems, providing first-class service to the University by managing, maintaining, and repairing approximately 300 multi-function devices and software across various university sites. Our engineers work sociable hours (Monday – Friday, office hours). You will be based in the Bath area or within a commutable distance; a company car will be provided. Key Responsibilities Repair, install, and maintain multi-functional network devices (MFDs) and other products, including software supplied by Sharp Business Systems UK and dealers. Prepare and set up MFDs/Products associated with the Sharp portfolio. Connect equipment to customers\’ PCs and networks by installing print drivers on servers and local PCs. Set up scanning and other functionalities over the network. Diagnose and resolve network-related MFD issues. Provide relevant training on hardware and software. Support and cover other roles when necessary. Adhere to company processes. Manage stock on vehicles or sites as appropriate. Person Specification Experience as a Photocopier Engineer. Experience with Sharp copiers is helpful but not essential. Good understanding of networking issues and how to resolve them. Proficient with PCs, laptops, and tablets. Excellent knowledge of Microsoft Word and Excel. Ability to understand and use bespoke software. Knowledge of Papercut is advantageous. Industry-recognized or other technical qualifications within the print sector are helpful. Analytical problem-solving skills for electromechanical faults. Valid driving license (Class B car etc.).
