Are you an experienced M&E Construction Buyer looking for your next challenge? Infraspec is working with a leading renewable energy business to find someone to help their ever-growing portfolio of work. We require an experienced and proactive Buyer to join a procurement team who work on renewable projects such as battery storage and flexible electric generation schemes. You will be responsible for sourcing and managing the supply chain for a wide range of M&E, LV, and HV electrical equipment, ensuring timely delivery, cost efficiency, and compliance with technical specifications.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Procure core BESS components including battery modules, PCS, transformers, switchgear, and enclosures.
  • Source and manage suppliers for LV/HV cabling, protection systems, HVAC, and fire suppression equipment.
  • Collaborate with engineering and project teams to ensure technical compliance and delivery schedules.
  • Negotiate contracts and manage supplier performance.
  • Maintain accurate procurement records and support cost control efforts.
  • Ensure all equipment meets relevant UK construction and electrical standards.
Essential Requirements:
  • Proven experience in procurement within construction, energy, or M&E sectors.
  • Strong knowledge of electrical systems including LV/HV equipment.
  • Familiarity with battery storage systems or renewable energy projects is highly desirable.
  • Excellent negotiation, communication, and supplier management skills.
  • Proficient in procurement software and Microsoft Office Suite.
Desirable:
  • CIPS qualification or working towards it.
  • Experience with utility-scale energy projects.
