We are seeking to appoint a Teaching Assistant to join our supportive and friendly staff team – the successful candidate will be supporting individuals and groups of children with their learning across the school and also carrying out classroom based duties.

Hours: 8.30 am – 12.15 pm Monday to Friday. In addition, the successful candidate will have a daily Midday Assistant role of one hour per day 12.15 pm – 1.15 pm.

Pay: £14,753.87 (TA role is scale 4, point 7 and the MDA role is scale 3, point 5, inclusive of outer fringe allowance).

We are looking for someone who:

  • Is ‘hands on’ and can bring energy, enthusiasm and a sense of fun to the role.
  • Is caring, dedicated and patient and willing to use their own initiative to support the class teacher and pupils.
  • Has an understanding of child development and how children learn.
  • Has very good personal numeracy, literacy/grammar and ICT skills (minimum GCSE Grade C or equivalent).
  • Is able to work in close partnership with the class teacher and staff team.
  • Experience/training in ELSA would be desirable but not essential.
  • Previous experience of working with children is preferable but not essential, as training and support will be provided. This is a public-facing role and therefore the successful candidate must speak fluent English.
