Housing Officer – Serco

Serco, working on behalf of the Home Office, is looking for a Housing Officer to support our Asylum Accommodation and Support Services Contract (AASC) in Dudley. This static role places you in a designated area to ensure properties are safe, well‑maintained and meet AASC standards.

Location: Dudley
Salary: £28,000 per annum
Contract: Permanent
Hours: Full‑time (37.5 hours per week)

What You’ll Be Doing

  • Conduct monthly property inspections to ensure compliance with AASC standards.
  • Manage onboarding and withdrawal of properties following local operating procedures.
  • Identify and report property faults, categorising them for appropriate action.
  • Perform minor property repairs using provided tools and training.
  • Handle operational cash administration, such as topping up utility meters and processing emergency payments.
  • Respond to and resolve customer complaints professionally.

We value people skills and experience working with vulnerable populations. Successful candidates will have strong communication abilities, composure under pressure, and confidence dealing with challenging situations such as anti‑social behaviour, safeguarding concerns, and medical needs. A background as a Housing Officer is preferred but not required.

To be considered you must hold a full, clean driving licence and be willing to undergo a Counter Terrorism Check (CTC) and Criminal Record Bureau (CRB) check (subject to Home Office approval).
