An exciting opportunity has arisen within the Global Engine Development (GED) team at our state-of-the-art Peterborough Engine Facility. This team plays a critical role in the development, validation, and certification of new products while also supporting current engine platforms.

As a Development & Research Engine Test Technician, you will be instrumental in executing engine testing to meet precise customer requirements. Working closely with engineers, you will support the investigation of current and future products, components, materials, and processes.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Execute safe and accurate installation of engines into test cells following standard procedures.
  • Connect and monitor test instrumentation, ensuring high-quality data collection.
  • Diagnose and resolve faults on engines and test equipment.
  • Collaborate effectively with engineers and the wider test team.
  • Maintain a clean and safe work environment, supporting 5S and TPM principles.
  • Engage in training and continuous improvement activities.
  • Support health and safety standards in line with the site's Safety Management System.

Working Pattern: 85% hands-on test bed operations, 15% training and development initiatives. Shift work required - flexibility and a proactive mindset are essential.

Learning & Development:
  • Willingness to undergo technical training to maintain and build competence.
Desirable Skills & Experience:
  • Strong diagnostic and mechanical skills.
  • Previous experience in motor vehicle maintenance or engine testing.
  • Completed an engineering or motor mechanics apprenticeship.
  • Relevant higher education qualification in an engineering discipline.
