We are currently recruiting for a Warehouse Operative in our Kerry Glasgow site located in Hillington, Glasgow. It is a full-time, permanent opportunity. Hours of work are Monday to Friday, 07.30-16.00, but some flexibility is required. There is also an early finish on Friday.
This is a varied role, where you will be cross trained in different areas such as warehouse, dispensary, mixing, packing and hygiene.
At our Kerry site in Glasgow we produce seasoning blends, herbs, spices and other related products for the food service industry.
Your responsibilities as Warehouse Operative will include:
- Contributing to the site operation and performing with a continuous improvement philosophy.
- Coordinating with Transport Team to manage inbound and outbound warehouse activities and schedules to meet business and customer requirements, along with the efficient turnaround of inbound and outbound vehicles.
- Weighing of ingredients according to recipe.
- Helping to manage the control and integrity of stock within the warehouse to ensure traceability.
- Monitoring and controlling the accurate goods issue of deliveries to ensure timely customer invoicing and OTIF measurement.
- Adjusting pallets to customer-specific requirements, such as labelling, palletisation, paperwork, pallet type, as per warehouse text instructions.
- Carrying out quality assurance checks on the manufactured products.
- Chemical cleaning of equipment.
- Rotating between different stations in warehouse, dispensary, mixing, packing and hygiene.
- Cycle counting to the agreed time frames and ensuring the appropriate reconciliation is complete along with Root Cause Corrective Action (RCCA).
- Following Health and Safety regulations and keeping work environment well-organized and tidy.
What do you need to be successful?
- Experience in warehouse environment.
- Counterbalance forklift license and experience.
- Effective communication skills.
- Basic IT skills (mainly MS Office and SAP).
- Ability to work well in a team and individually.
- Attention to details.
- Previous experience of working in a Food Manufacturer or a knowledge of SAP would be an advantage.
