An ambitious and progressive secondary school in Luton is seeking to appoint an inspiring and experienced Head of Engineering to lead their successful department from September 2025 on a permanent basis. This is an exciting opportunity for a dedicated Engineering specialist or experienced Design & Technology teacher with expertise in Engineering to take on a leadership role and drive further success in this growing and innovative subject area.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead the Engineering department, driving forward the curriculum and ensuring high standards of teaching and learning across KS4 and KS5.
- Line manage and support departmental staff to ensure professional growth and excellent outcomes.
- Plan and deliver engaging, industry-relevant lessons that develop students' technical knowledge, creativity, and practical skills.
- Foster strong links with local employers and industry to enhance the curriculum and provide students with real-world insights and opportunities.
- Monitor student progress, analyse data, and implement strategies to ensure all students achieve their potential.
- Contribute to whole-school leadership initiatives as part of the wider Middle Leadership team.

Who We Are Looking For:
- An experienced Engineering or DT teacher with a strong track record of success.
- Previous leadership or curriculum development experience (2iC, Subject Lead, or equivalent desirable).
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) required.

- Strong leadership, organisational, and interpersonal skills.
