Wig Consultant

Contributes to the Hospital’s mission to care, to heal, and to excel in service to our community by guiding clients facing hair loss in the selection of wigs and head coverings. This staff position impacts patients by continuously improving patient satisfaction by maintaining dignity and confidence during a difficult and emotional time.

Qualifications:

• Education: Required: High School Diploma or G.E.D. | Preferred: Experience
• Experience: Required: Prior healthcare and/or retail
• Skills/Knowledge: Must be able to read, write, and communicate effectively in English with patients, visitors, and hospital staff
• Licenses/Certifications: Required: Licensed Cosmetologist
• Life Support Certification: Not applicable
• Population Specific Requirements: Adolescents, Adults, Geriatrics
• Other Job Requirements: Flexibility in hours, on-call as needed, no travel required

Reporting Relationships:

Reports to the Associate Director of the Community Health Institute. Not responsible for supervising others.

Job Functions:

• Select, fit, and customize wigs for clients during consultations
• Review styles in stock and catalogs to determine appropriate options
• Discuss payment or insurance with clients
• Maintain inventory and monitor product levels
• Complete billing documentation
• Maintain a clean and safe work environment

All employees must be flexible and responsive to changing patient and hospital needs. Vaccination against influenza and COVID-19 is required for all staff.
