Warehouse Shift Manager – Stowmarket, Suffolk

£48k per year

We are excited to be recruiting for a brand-new state-of-the-art Distribution Centre in Stowmarket, Suffolk. This is a permanent opportunity offering the successful candidate the chance to join a thriving organisation in a dynamic and forward-thinking environment.

Shift Pattern

4 days on, 2 days off rotating shifts:

• 05:30 – 15:00
• 14:00 – 23:30

This rotation allows you to work only 244 days per year (compared to the traditional 260-day working year)

Role Responsibilities

• Lead and manage a team of approx. 250 colleagues via First Line Managers and Team Leaders
• Oversee warehouse operations including receiving, stock put-away, picking, dispatch, returns, and recycling
• Champion Health & Safety and implement process improvements
• Collaborate cross-functionally with Inventory, H&S, Planning, and HR teams
• Monitor and exceed KPIs, tackling performance issues where needed
• Manage shift handovers, team briefings, and staff engagement initiatives
• Drive resource efficiency across time frames and functional areas
• Contribute to business planning and team development through PDPs and critical task setting

Ideal Candidate Will Have

• Proven experience in a similar warehouse management role
• Familiarity with Warehouse Management Systems – Red Prairie or Blue Yonder is a bonus
• Strong Microsoft Office skills – Excel, Word, PowerPoint
• A collaborative approach, excellent communication skills, and a strong work ethic
• Passion for team engagement and continuous improvement
