We are seeking to employ highly motivated Social Care Assistants to work within the Social Care Team at HMP Wandsworth. You will work alongside partner agencies to deliver a high standard of personal care and promote independence to a prisoner client base.
The purpose of this role is to provide consistent care for all patients whilst in custody and furthermore support the resettlement process whether they are released into the community or transferring onto another establishment. The post holder will practically assist in the delivery of high-quality personal care to patients who have been assessed by the Local Authority as requiring support. These clients will have a diverse range of needs. In order to achieve the best possible outcome, a focus on developing sustainable improvements in their overall health and wellbeing is paramount.
Core hours are 37.5 hours a week aligned to a pattern which covers the core day from 8 am until 5 pm, 365 days a year. Relevant experience in the caring profession in a healthcare setting would be desirable. The post holder will have or be willing to work towards completion of the care certificate relevant to the field within 12 weeks of starting employment.
We also expect an assertive approach to ensuring the safety and well-being of all children, young people and adults and applicants to these posts will need to demonstrate an understanding of and commitment to best safeguarding practice.
