The physiotherapy MSK outpatient service for Plymouth and South Hams (Kingsbridge and Tavistock) is hosted by the acute trust but provides the service at various locations across the Plymouth and South Hams region. This post is currently based within the Outpatient department at Derriford Hospital and rotates through peripheral clinics. This post also has the potential to participate with the wider band 7 central and peripheral rotations through Kingsbridge and Tavistock in the future. The successful candidate will join a well-established team to support, deliver, develop and promote this service across the local Healthcare Community. Provide a high level of clinical leadership to a designated physiotherapy team and more junior staff in the department. Ensure governance agenda is delivered in line with trust structure. To provide clinical leadership and expertise, with respect to MSK outpatients within the trust in liaison with Deputy Out-patient Physiotherapy manager and other clinical specialists. To hold responsibility for leading and managing the outpatient team on a daily basis, with support from the Deputy Out-patient Physiotherapy Manager and Head of Physiotherapy. To supervise/performance manage all staff line managed by this post, inclusive of the clinical education and management of physiotherapy students. To take a major role in the advanced assessment and treatment of patients within the speciality who may have complex and/or chronic presentation, and to determine clinical diagnosis and physiotherapy treatment indicated, and to maintain records as an autonomous practitioner To undertake evidence-based audit and research projects to further own and team’s clinical practice.
