We are seeking an experienced Senior Buyer to join a dynamic team within a leading global organisation specialising in high end machinery for safety critical markets. This role essentially is responsible for the on time delivery of both products and services, working with key stakeholders along the process.
Day to day responsibilities include:
- Review and managing MRP requirements, ensuring the right approach is being taken in relation to OTD and inventory levels
- Prepare and issue tenders
- Negotiating prices and contracts
- Understand make vs buy decisions
- Efficient management of the MRP system
- Working with an approved supplier base to create service and framework agreements, blanket purchase orders
- Monitor and manage supplier performance to ensure best totalled cost for the business and 100% quality
- Work with stakeholders to assist in sourcing and establishing new products and sources of supply
Qualifications and experience:
- 5 + years experience within an engineering/manufacturing business
- Ideally completed CIPS to L4 or L5 or at least started it - they can support this moving forwards
- Technical aptitude to understand technical drawing - ability to challenge and ask relevant questions
- Involvement of strategic activities
- Experience using any MRP system
