Our client is seeking a high-calibre Portfolio Value Creation Specialist with deep financial expertise and a strong track record in transaction services to join their Portfolio Operations team. This dual-facing role supports both post-acquisition value creation initiatives and pre-investment transaction processes. The ideal candidate will bring rigorous financial due diligence experience, strong commercial judgment, and the ability to work hands-on with portfolio companies to unlock financial performance. This is a critical role interfacing with both investment teams and portfolio leadership to drive value across the deal lifecycle.
Key Responsibilities
- Pre-Investment (Deal Support): Support financial due diligence and operational assessments during the investment process, working alongside investment professionals and external advisors. Evaluate target company finance functions, systems, and reporting maturity to identify opportunities and risks. Contribute to investment committee materials by articulating finance-related value creation levers and execution feasibility. Assist in integration planning, particularly around finance and reporting systems.
- Post-Investment (Value Creation): Partner with portfolio company CFOs and finance teams to identify and execute financial value creation initiatives across budgeting, forecasting, working capital, and reporting. Lead post-close diagnostics to define financial improvement priorities and 100-day action plans. Drive enhancements in management reporting, cash flow visibility, and performance tracking. Support ERP and financial systems upgrades to enable scalability and control. Evaluate and improve finance function capabilities, including team structure, process effectiveness, and KPIs.
What We're Looking For:
- 7–10 years' experience, ideally starting in Big 4 Transaction Services / Deal Advisory
- Exposure to private equity clients or value creation initiatives
- Deal team professionals interested in pivoting into a value creation
- ACCA-qualified or similar is a plus
- Willing to work on-site in London 4+ days/week
