In this role as the Laboratory IT Liaison, you will bridge the gap between laboratory and Information Technology, ensuring effective communication and seamless operations. You will assess lab needs, drive the implementation of IT solutions, address technical challenges, manage data security, ensure regulatory compliance. By fostering innovation, the Laboratory IT Liaison enhances productivity and supports scientific research, ultimately improving laboratory efficiency and success. The Laboratory IT Liaison will act as the primary point of contact for lab stakeholders regarding IT-related activities including investigation of new lab software, operational support of existing laboratory systems/instruments, and production support for laboratory technology related issues. This role will be remotely based in UK. In more details, you will be responsible for: Investigational Support: Collaborate with lab users/management to evaluate new systems or software Engage appropriate IT security and architecture teams for review and approval Oversee and provide guidance to lab on IT processes (i.e. Vendor Risk Assessments, Software Security Testing, etc) Collaborate with IT teams (firewall, network, deskside) for testing and implementation Operational Support: Intake and triage lab operational requests involving IT support Follow upwith lab stakeholders or vendors as needed Manage lab software upgrades with various IT and lab support teams Coordinate with lab vendors and IT for deployment/maintenance of remote support agents Explore options for network backup solutions Build/maintain lab system knowledge Support IT Changes within laboratory Perform Impact Assessment Coordinate implementation with lab and IT teams Follow up on potential issues after implementation Production Issues Support: Serve as the 1st level IT support for the laboratory investigation and diagnosis Engage appropriate IT support teams and/or resolving groups Assist vendors onsite during troubleshooting visits Monitor and follow up of recurring IT issues impacting lab What we are looking for: Minimum Bachelor degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Biomedical Engineering or other like field required Experience working in IT Systems, Infrastructure, Security, Network, Lab communications Protocols (ASTM, HL7) within a laboratory environment Demonstrated strong customer service skills Strong planning, organizational, negotiation and problem-solving skills. Excellent written, verbal, and strong interpersonal skills.
