This role offers a lucrative signing bonus when starting with Freedom (Bonus of £2500: £1250 in the first month and £1250 after successful probation).
Freedom Networks is seeking a Chargehand Linesman for a field-based role. The main purpose is to work in a team to deliver projects on time, adhering to safety regulations, quality standards, and specifications. The role reports directly to the Supervisor.
Key responsibilities include:
- Install, build, and refurbish overhead lines at various voltages – LV, 11kV, up to 33kV.
- Work in accordance with Freedom and customer standards, policies, and procedures.
- Maintain and develop personal competence according to legislative and customer requirements.
- Guide and work as part of a team to ensure safe, effective, and efficient operations.
- Communicate instructions and messages as directed by your Manager.
- Monitor team’s safety practices and ensure adherence to safety rules.
- Liaise with third parties for smooth project implementation.
- Follow SHEQ policies and safety instructions, maintaining site safety and completing risk assessments as required.
- Report accidents, near misses, and safety concerns appropriately.
- Implement and uphold Freedom’s values and quality standards.
Qualifications and skills required:
- Full Driving Licence
- First Aid Certification
- Working at Height certification
- Winch Operation experience
- IPAF 1b MEWP Operation
- NRSWA Operative qualification
- City & Guilds 2322 Chainsaw Certification
- DNO Authorization (up to 33kV, Live Line Working, Polarity, Sub-Station Entry)
- Environmental Awareness
- Safety Marshall Training
Additional skills include:
- Minimum 5 years practical experience in Overhead Lines work up to 33kV.
- Strong knowledge of Health & Safety practices and their practical application.
